Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra, in her message posted on the micro-blogging platform X, formerly known as Twitter, has made a request to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) to publicly release comprehensive information pertaining to the login access of all Members of Parliament (MPs. She urged the NIC to ensure that the data reflects whether MPs were physically present when their parliamentary IDs were accessed, a process that is often facilitated by their personal assistants, researchers, interns, and staff. Moitra emphasized the importance of revealing this information to investigative agencies for further scrutiny and transparency.
This request by Mahua Moitra was prompted by allegations made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey. He had claimed that Moitra's parliamentary ID was employed in Dubai while she was supposedly in India.
On the same day, Nishikant Dubey, who had previously accused Moitra of allegedly engaging in parliamentary questions in exchange for cash and gifts from a businessman, a move apparently aimed at targeting the Adani Group and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took additional steps to seek action against her. Dubey expressed his frustration with the frequent mention of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in such cases and stated that he had lodged a complaint with Lokpal. In his message, he asserted that Lokpal is the primary authority tasked with addressing allegations of corruption involving MPs and Ministers.
