In response to Nara Bhuvaneswari's launch of the 'Nijam Gelavali' (truth should win) yatra against her husband Chandrababu Naidu's alleged 'unlawful' arrest, a minister from the ruling Jagan Mohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh voiced strong criticism. The yatra was initiated in light of Naidu's arrest in connection with the AP Skill Development Corporation scam.
Roja Selvamani, a member of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), stated that should the truth be unveiled, Chandrababu Naidu and his family members might face the grim prospect of a life sentence. She articulated, "We, too, seek the triumph of truth. If truth prevails, Chandrababu could potentially face a lifetime of incarceration. There exists the possibility that Bhuvaneswari and Lokesh will also be subjected to imprisonment alongside him."
As a significant component of the yatra, Nara Bhuvaneswari is planning to visit families across the state, offering support and condolences to those who were reportedly left in shock and mourning following the news of former CM Naidu's arrest.Â
Her journey commenced with a floral tribute at the statue of her father, NT Rama Rao, the founder of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), located in Naravaripalle village within the Chittoor district.
She also visited the family of A. Praveen Reddy in Chandragiri, who tragically passed away on October 17, purportedly due to the anguish stemming from the unjust incarceration of the TDP leader. Bhuvaneswari provided solace to Reddy's mother and extended significant moral support to the grieving family during this trying period. She also contributed financial assistance amounting to Rs 3 lakh.
The arrest of Chandrababu Naidu, the chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), took place on September 9. He was apprehended on charges of alleged funds misappropriation from the Skill Development Corporation, a situation that has been linked to an estimated loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
