The Coast Guard provides rescues 10 fisherman are stranded in a broken boat off the coast of Tamil Nadu

A group of 10 fishermen, part of a fishing boat crew, found themselves stranded in the Palk Bay due to hull damage. Their boat, which had set sail from Navoor harbor in Nagapattnam on October 5, experienced a hull crack on the same day, leading to an emergency situation characterized by water ingress and engine failure during the night.

Upon receiving information from the State Fisheries Department authorities in Rameswaram in the early hours of the following day, the Coast Guard station in Mandapam swiftly deployed ICGS (Indian Coast Guard Ship) C-432 for a rescue mission, according to a defense press release. The distressed fishing boat, carrying 10 crew members, was located approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Pamban in the Palk Bay, and the Coast Guard promptly rescued them.

The Coast Guard safely handed over both the crew members and the damaged boat to Fisheries Department officials near the Pamban fishing harbor in Rameswaram.
