On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the microblogging platform 'X' to share insights about his recent visit to Uttarakhand and revealed his deep admiration for a particular region in the state.
During his visit to Uttarakhand, which took place earlier in the week, Prime Minister Modi embraced the beauty and charm of Kumaon, a region close to his heart. He enthusiastically shared photographs from this picturesque region with the public.
The Prime Minister's journey to Uttarakhand, which commenced on October 12, commenced with a visit to the Adi Kailash peak, a sacred abode of Lord Shiva. For this spiritual encounter, Modi donned a traditional tribal ensemble, complete with a white turban and an off-white 'ranga' – a robe-like upper body garment. In this serene setting, he conducted an 'aarti' and resounded the conch shell at the Shiva-Parvati temple located alongside the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong.
With fervent enthusiasm, Prime Minister Modi wholeheartedly recommended Kumaon, a region that holds a special place in his heart. In response to the question of the one place that must be visited in Uttarakhand, he unequivocally nominated Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples in the Kumaon region. He attested to the awe-inspiring beauty and spiritual significance of this place, asserting that it has the power to captivate and enthrall those who visit.
Expressing his personal sentiments, he reflected on the numerous notable places in Uttarakhand, emphasizing his frequent visits to the state. This list notably includes the sacred destinations of Kedarnath and Badrinath, which have left a lasting imprint on his memory. Nevertheless, returning to Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Temples after many years held a unique and cherished place in his heart.
In a separate event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for an array of development projects in Uttarakhand, collectively valued at nearly Rs 4,200 crore. Comprising a total of 23 projects, these initiatives are poised to catalyze growth and progress across various sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, power supply, drinking water access, sports, tourism, disaster management, and horticulture in the hilly state.
