The seamless operation of the Sabarimala pilgrimage is stressed by the Kerala High Court

The Kerala High Court has once again underscored the crucial necessity of adhering to its prior rulings to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience for devotees during the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku season at the revered Lord Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala.

In the context of the forthcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage seasons, the court took cognizance of its earlier directives, which notably included the prohibition of ornate vehicles for transporting devotees.

A panel of Judges, comprising Justices Anil K Narendran and Sophy Thomas, deliberated on the matter. The court's previous pronouncement had unambiguously stipulated that no vehicles, not even those operated by the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), could exhibit embellishments that contravene safety regulations. Nevertheless, KSRTC buses were granted permission to feature advertisements.

In its most recent ruling, the bench specified that two ambulances, encompassing an off-road ambulance, should be readily accessible at the Sannidhanam location within the Sabarimala precinct. This directive aims to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims during their sacred journey.
