Trudeau mentions the India-Canada diplomatic dispute with Jordan King following the UAE President

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau engaged in a communication exchange with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan on Sunday, during which he furnished the monarch with an "update regarding the state of affairs between Canada and India." Trudeau emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and adhering to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations in the context of their discussion.

Furthermore, on the same day, Trudeau had a conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed.

The diplomatic discord between Canada and India was initially ignited by Trudeau's accusations regarding India's alleged involvement in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

While Trudeau's office released a statement detailing the meeting and its substantive matters, the statement issued by King Abdullah II's office did not explicitly reference the dialogue concerning India-Canada relations.

Within the course of their meeting, Trudeau also unequivocally condemned the extensive attacks launched by Hamas against Israel and underscored Canada's unwavering support for Israel's right to self-defense. He expressed his concerns about the tragic events occurring in war-torn Israel and emphasized that Canada is in communication with its international counterparts to monitor the situation and facilitate the restoration of peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister and the King also discussed their shared apprehensions regarding the escalation of hostilities and the loss of civilian lives.

Moreover, the leaders underscored the strong bonds between Canada and Jordan and concurred on the necessity of ongoing communication as the situation continues to evolve.

Prime Minister Trudeau's endeavors to address the diplomatic tensions between India and Canada transpired following India's dismissal of his allegations as "absurd" and "motivated." In response to Ottawa's expulsion of an Indian official related to the case, India had also expelled a senior Canadian diplomat.

Trudeau's discussion with UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak earlier in the week highlighted the urgency of de-escalating the diplomatic discord between India and Canada and emphasized the imperative nature of upholding the principles of the rule of law in this matter.

The strained diplomatic relations between Canada and India have placed considerable strain on the interactions between the two nations, with India expressing its willingness to collaborate and examine any specific or pertinent information presented by Canada concerning the claims put forth by the Canadian government.
