On Monday, a traffic constable in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, issued a fine to the driver of a vehicle displaying a 'Jai Mata Di' sticker. Upon learning of this traffic violation, members of a Hindu organization known as The Hindu Raksha Dal arrived at the scene and engaged in a heated argument with the traffic constable. The incident was recorded on video and has since gone viral.
In the video footage, Pinky Chaudhary, the national president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, can be seen engaged in a passionate argument with the traffic police officer, surrounded by several members of the group. Chaudhary openly challenged the traffic constable to contact his superiors and even dared him to contact Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Additionally, Chaudhary made an attempt to take the constable's mobile phone, which was being used to record the incident.
The fine imposed on the vehicle owner was in compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act, which prohibits the display of religious or caste-specific stickers on vehicles.
Subsequently, a case has been registered against Pinky Chaudhary, the vehicle's driver, and approximately two dozen unidentified individuals. The charges filed against them include various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as IPC 146 (use of force or violence), 148 (rioting), 322 (voluntarily causing hurt), 353 (obstructing the duty of a public servant), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
