Will Pakistan have a significant earthquake? Turkiye-Syria earthquake expert says

Frank Hoogerbeets, a Dutch researcher renowned for predicting earthquakes, including those in Turkey and Syria earlier this year, has made a bold assertion that a seismic event could potentially originate near Pakistan. He is associated with the Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS) and has been known for earthquake predictions based on celestial alignments.

According to Hoogerbeets, there were reports of atmospheric fluctuations in regions encompassing and close to Pakistan. He suggested that these fluctuations might serve as an "indicator of an upcoming stronger tremor." However, he emphasized that while such observations can hint at the possibility of a significant earthquake, no definitive prediction can be made.

In response to the speculation arising from his latest post, Hoogerbeets addressed concerns on social media by dismissing rumors of an impending "big earthquake." He clarified that while there can be indicators, there is no certainty that a major earthquake will occur.

It's important to note that Frank Hoogerbeets' predictions, while intriguing, have sparked debate within the scientific community. Many experts in seismology consider him a "pseudoscientist" and assert that his approach does not align with accepted earthquake prediction methodologies.

Pakistan, as one of the most seismically active countries globally, frequently experiences earthquakes due to its location along several major fault lines. The SSGEOS has reported unusual electric charge fluctuations along fault lines in Balochistan's Chaman area, suggesting the potential for a powerful earthquake. However, the exact timing and location of such seismic events remain challenging to predict.

The science of earthquake prediction is still evolving, and most earthquakes occur without any advance warning. Official scientific organizations, including the US Geological Survey, have not been able to predict major earthquakes. While Hoogerbeets' predictions have gained attention, it's essential to understand that they should not be considered official earthquake forecasts.
