Woman's body discovered in a rice field in Bengal's Malda with burns to her face and several wounds


The lifeless body of an unidentified woman, bearing multiple injuries, was discovered in a paddy field situated alongside the roadside in West Bengal's Malda district. The unsettling finding has prompted alarm and concern among local residents. Promptly, the Malda Police responded to the situation upon receiving the report, and they are currently engaged in the process of establishing the identity of the deceased.

Some local individuals have made allegations, claiming that the woman's facial features exhibited signs of acid burns, while asserting that she had fallen victim to a horrific crime involving sexual assault and murder. In response to these distressing allegations, the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter.

The information available from a police source indicates the presence of stab wounds dispersed across various parts of the victim's body. Furthermore, law enforcement officials have reported the discovery of knives, acid, used condoms, and charred garments scattered throughout the crime scene, painting a disturbing picture of the incident.

Subsequently, the body has been transferred to undergo post-mortem examination, a critical step in the investigative process. Shedding light on the situation, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Yadav remarked, "The identity of the woman is not known yet. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. An investigation into the incident has started."
