On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a statement during the two-day National Sindhi Convention, suggesting that if the historic Shri Ram Janmabhoomi can be reclaimed after 500 years, there is no reason why the Sindhu region, now part of Pakistan, cannot be similarly reclaimed.
Addressing the audience at the convention, Adityanath emphasized the significance of the construction of the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, noting that after 500 years, Lord Ramlala will be ceremoniously installed in his temple by the Prime Minister in January.
Furthermore, he asserted, "If Ram Janmabhoomi can be taken back after 500 years, then there is no reason why we cannot take back Sindhu."
The statement was met with resounding applause from the audience, as indicated by a press statement issued by the state government.
Adityanath went on to emphasize the need for the Sindhi community to pass down its history to the present generation, highlighting the immense hardships and suffering endured by the community after the Partition.
He also mentioned that the Partition of the country was the result of the stubbornness of a single individual and resulted in the loss of lives of countless individuals.
Regarding the aftermath of Partition, Adityanath remarked, "When the Partition of the country took place, lakhs of people were massacred. A large area of India became Pakistan. The Sindhi community suffered the most as it had to leave its motherland. Even today, we have to bear the brunt of the tragedy of Partition in the form of terrorism."
At the Sindhi Council of India-organized event, Adityanath emphasized that no civilized society can condone terrorism, extremism, or any form of anarchy.
He stressed the importance of eliminating the negative tendencies within society for the well-being of humanity, drawing inspiration from religious scriptures that advocate protecting the good and eradicating evil.
Adityanath pointed out, "Where there is a country, there is a religion too, and when there is a religion, there is a society in which we all exist."
He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in combating terrorism in India and urged people to pledge "nation first" to prevent any recurrence of a Partition-like tragedy. He emphasized the need to be ready to give a fitting response to anyone who threatens the unity and integrity of the nation.
Adityanath also commended the Sindhi community, considering it an integral part of India's Sanatan Dharma, and recognized their remarkable progress even in challenging circumstances. He highlighted the Sindhi community's journey from adversity to success.
During the convention, Chief Minister Adityanath presented Pankaj Advani, a Padma Bhushan awardee and world billiards champion, with the 'Sher-e-Sindh' award.
