Man's throat cut, body put outside UP farmhouse of former MLA; three people arrested

The trio of suspects, namely Suraj, Ankur, and Lalit, who were acquainted with the victim, were taken into custody after allegedly committing a gruesome act of slitting the throat and decapitating a man in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district. The accused individuals, who were supposedly friends of the victim, were invited to his rented accommodation on a Sunday night for a party.

The victim, identified as Pradeep, a 30-year-old resident of Pahalwanpurwa in Kannauj, had extended an invitation to his friends for a gathering at his place. However, an altercation ensued between Pradeep and his friends, escalating to the point where the accused trio allegedly slit his throat. Subsequently, Pradeep's lifeless body was discarded outside the farmhouse belonging to former Samajwadi Party MLA Rajeshwar Singh from Etah. The location of this gruesome act was a road leading from the Ganga Barrage to Bithoor.

Adding a macabre twist to the incident, Pradeep's head was reportedly crushed with bricks when his body was disposed of. The security guard at the adjacent farmhouse witnessed the horrifying incident and promptly informed the Nawabganj police station.

Following the information provided by the security guard, Suraj, Ankur, and Lalit were swiftly apprehended by the authorities. During the initial questioning, all three suspects purportedly admitted to committing the murder, attributing it to a dispute that transpired while they were in an inebriated state.

A murder case has been formally registered against the trio, and evidence such as blood-stained clothing has been collected. The incident occurred between 3 am and 4 am in the night, and forensic experts have gathered crucial evidence from the crime scene.

According to the police, one suspect was arrested immediately, while the other two attempted to evade capture but were subsequently apprehended. The family members of the deceased have departed from Kannauj to Kanpur, and the body has been dispatched for post-mortem examination. The Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Colonelganj, Akmal Khan, emphasized that all three suspects are currently undergoing rigorous interrogation.
