Renowned African-American singer and actress Mary Millben expressed her admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) resounding victory in the elections held in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan on December 3. Mary Millben, known for her soulful renditions and active engagement in global affairs, took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share her thoughts on the electoral outcomes.
In her X post, Mary Millben conveyed, "Today’s election results in #India, the @BJP4India winning the heartland states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, is a precursor to a strong victory for PM @narendramodi in 2024." She further emphasized that Prime Minister Modi is the "#IndiaFirst candidate" and lauded him as the "best leader for the US-India relationship."
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved a significant triumph in the heartland states, securing victories in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. While the Congress found solace in a substantial win in Telangana, the BJP's success in these crucial states marked a noteworthy electoral dominance.
Mary Millben has previously acknowledged Prime Minister Modi's global initiatives, notably commending his proposal to include the African Union as a full member of the G20. This move, supported by the United States, was applauded by Millben, who stated, "The global south can now shape policies impacting our world."
The 41-year-old singer, recognized and appreciated in India for her rendition of the National Anthem and the devotional bhajan 'Om Jai Jagdish Hare,' had the honor of singing India's national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' during an event in the United States in June, coinciding with the prime minister's visit. Her positive sentiments towards Prime Minister Modi and her engagement in global affairs continue to resonate in India and beyond.
