11 Indians headed for the US were saved in Nepal and gave the gang Rs 45 lakh apiece

Recently, the Nepal Police conducted a successful operation to rescue 11 Indian nationals who were held captive by a criminal gang in Kathmandu. The victims were promised transportation to the United States by the gang but were instead taken to Nepal.

Acting on intelligence, the police conducted a raid on a property in the Ratopul area, where the hostages had been confined for approximately one month. It was revealed that the gang had extorted significant amounts of money from each individual under the guise of facilitating their journey to the US.

Subsequently, seven individuals involved in the human trafficking operation were apprehended by law enforcement authorities. Each victim had reportedly paid a sum of approximately 45 lakh Indian rupees to the traffickers.

According to reports, the victims were deceived into believing that they would be trafficked to the US, with the traffickers intending to transit them through Nepal.

The majority of the hostages hailed from Delhi and Haryana, as confirmed by officials familiar with the case.

Further details regarding this incident will be provided during a press conference scheduled to be held by the Kathmandu Range of Nepal Police on Thursday.
