A man from Telangana commits suicide after being harassed by loan app agents

A 28-year-old individual residing in Telangana's Rajanna Sircilla district has tragically taken his own life, purportedly as a result of experiencing harassment and intimidation from recovery agents associated with a loan application.

The deceased, identified as Ch Sairaju, reportedly faced distressing circumstances after defaulting on a loan obtained from an online lending platform. Allegations suggest that these agents resorted to coercion, threatening to disseminate manipulated images of Sairaju to his acquaintances unless he complied with their demands.

Sairaju's sudden disappearance from his residence two days prior prompted concerns, leading to the filing of a missing person report on February 27, as disclosed by law enforcement authorities. Additionally, relatives of Sairaju received distressing images believed to have been digitally altered earlier this week.

Tragically, Sairaju's lifeless body was discovered on Wednesday near the Mid Manair Dam in Manwada Village, within the Rajanna Sircilla district.

Compounding the investigation's complexity, Sairaju's mobile device remains unaccounted for, a potential repository of crucial evidential material.

In response to this distressing incident, authorities have initiated legal proceedings, registering a case invoking charges of abetment of suicide under IPC Section 306, in conjunction with relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act.
