The Alabama Supreme Court, comprised entirely of Republican justices and known for its staunch conservatism, delivered a ruling deeming frozen embryos as legally equivalent to children under state law. Consequently, several Alabama clinics and medical facilities, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham health system, opted to suspend their IVF services.
