In a social media post, Gandhi lauded this development as a testament to the power of unity, emphasizing that those who stand together will emerge victorious, while divisive tactics will ultimately falter.
Expressing similar sentiments, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attributed the cancellation of the examination to the unwavering determination of the youth, stating that the government was compelled to yield in the face of their influence. She criticized the government's initial denial of the paper leak, highlighting it as indicative of the prevailing corruption within the BJP administration and condemning their purportedly negligent and misleading approach towards the matter.
Further intensifying her critique of the ruling BJP, Vadra asserted that the government's failure to acknowledge the leakage of the examination papers and their subsequent attempts to intimidate students and educators only exacerbated the situation. She lamented the lack of accountability, noting that those responsible for the leak remained at large, underscoring the government's purported disregard for the welfare of the youth and their prioritization of safeguarding their reputation and appeasing vested interests.
Demanding prompt action and a renewed commitment to transparency, Vadra urged the government to swiftly announce a new examination date, accompanied by stringent measures to prevent any future breaches of security. Concurrently, the Uttar Pradesh government has initiated an investigation into the allegations through the Special Task Force (STF), as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed the administration's unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of examinations. Adityanath warned of severe consequences for those found guilty of tampering with the examination process, stressing the imperative of safeguarding the hard work of aspirants.
The crackdown on alleged malpractice has seen over 240 individuals arrested or detained across Uttar Pradesh, underscoring the authorities' resolve to uphold the rule of law and ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process.
