Amid BJP switch rumors, Kamal Nath may visit the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, according to sources

Amid swirling conjectures regarding the potential alignment with the BJP, Kamal Nath, the erstwhile Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and a seasoned figure within the Congress ranks, is reportedly contemplating a visit to the Ram Temple situated in Ayodhya.

Sources indicate that Kamal Nath, accompanied by his family, is considering a pilgrimage to Ayodhya, with tentative plans suggesting a possible visit either on Monday or Tuesday, as per a report by India Today TV.

Earlier this month, Kamal Nath, alongside his son Nakul Nath, partook in a ceremonial worship involving the recitation of 4 crore 30 lakh 'Ram Naam' letters.

Responding to the swirling speculations regarding his potential defection to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kamal Nath addressed the media on Saturday, asserting his intent to provide clarity should such a transition materialize.

Reportedly, Kamal Nath's purported disenchantment stems from his perceived snub in securing a Rajya Sabha berth, compounded by purported discontentment from Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, particularly in the aftermath of the party's electoral setbacks in the previous year's assembly polls.

Following the Congress's decisive defeat in the said polls, wherein the BJP clinched victory by securing 163 out of 230 seats in the legislative assembly, Kamal Nath was subsequently relieved of his duties as the party's Madhya Pradesh unit chief. The Congress, in stark contrast, managed to secure a mere 66 seats in the electoral contest.
