Arvind Kejriwal is allegedly threatened by AAP to leave the INDIA bloc or face arrest

AAP leader Atishi asserted during a press conference on Thursday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been subjected to threats from the BJP-led central government, warning of potential repercussions if the party proceeds with its engagement in the Opposition INDIA coalition.

At the briefing, Atishi, who also serves as a Delhi Minister, expressed, "We have been informed of threats indicating that unless AAP withdraws from the INDIA alliance, Arvind Kejriwal may receive a notice from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) within the next two days, specifically on either Saturday or Monday, under CrPC Section 41 A, culminating in his arrest by both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Furthermore, AAP has been cautioned that if AAP-Congress engage in seat-sharing negotiations, then within the subsequent three to four days, Arvind Kejriwal could face arrest."

"We want to convey to the BJP that neither Arvind Kejriwal nor we are intimidated by such threats. Even if all AAP leaders and Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) are incarcerated, every AAP supporter will rise as a leader and safeguard the principles of democracy and the constitution of our nation," she emphasized.

It's noteworthy that Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate on seven occasions to participate in the investigation related to the Delhi liquor policy case. Kejriwal, thus far, has refrained from complying with six summonses.

The AAP and Congress are currently in the final stages of negotiations for seat-sharing ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections later this year.

Sources indicate that the Congress is likely to be allocated three of the seven seats in Delhi, while the AAP, which holds power in Delhi, is anticipated to contest the remaining four seats.

Earlier this week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remarked that the discussions on seat-sharing between the two parties were in the "final stage," although he expressed regret over the delay in the negotiations. "Let's wait and see what unfolds in the next two to three days. The process has been prolonged; it should have been concluded earlier," Kejriwal remarked to reporters.
