Following Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav's assertion that his doors were perpetually open for Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary weighed in, indicating that the decision regarding alliance formations rested squarely on the shoulders of the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) supremo.
In response to Lalu Prasad's statement, Samrat Chaudhary remarked that it was incumbent upon Nitish Kumar to determine whether he preferred to maintain ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or explore an alliance with the RJD. He emphasized that this decision lay solely within the purview of Nitish Kumar, not Lalu Prasad Yadav, asserting that Kumar had already expressed his stance, thereby conveying a clear message to the people of Bihar.
Chaudhary further extolled Nitish Kumar's contributions to Bihar's progress over the past 18 years, affirming his unwavering commitment to the state's development in the future as well.
The Bihar deputy chief minister's remarks followed Lalu Prasad's cryptic comment, "Let him come back. Then we will see," made in the wake of Kumar's realignment with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) fold, which was met with warm gestures between the two veteran leaders within the Vidhan Sabha premises on Thursday.
Taking a swipe at former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samrat Chaudhary lambasted the duo, characterizing them as symbols of corruption. He accused them of plundering Bihar and the nation, respectively, about their political endeavors.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav joined Rahul Gandhi in Bihar's Sasaram for the Congress's 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra'. Viral videos depicted the duo atop a sports utility vehicle, enthusiastically greeted by a cheering crowd, symbolizing their collective endeavor toward national unity and justice.
