In Andhra Pradesh, unidentified individuals breach into a shrine and take away Rs 10,000

Police in Amaravathi town, nestled within Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district, reported that at least two individuals, as yet unidentified, forcibly entered a temple compound, resulting in the theft of approximately Rs 10,000. The targeted sanctuary was the Kshetra Bala Chamundika temple, situated on the grounds of the Amaralingeswara Swamy Temple.

The incident garnered attention after CCTV footage capturing one of the perpetrators attempting to gain access to the temple circulated widely on social media platforms. Authorities revealed that the intruders not only vandalized the steel Hundi within the temple premises but also made away with the aforementioned sum of money.

Efforts to apprehend the culprits are currently underway, with law enforcement officials diligently scrutinizing available CCTV recordings to aid in their investigation, as mentioned by an official statement.

This incident of temple trespass and theft is reminiscent of an earlier occurrence in 2022 when the Vijayawada Police arrested an individual identified as Kagga Pullarao (51) on charges of attempting to pilfer gold ornaments during hundi counting at the Kanaka Durga temple. Pullarao, who was employed as an attendant at the temple, purportedly absconded with the valuables, stashing them in the bathroom with intentions to retrieve them later.
