"Kamala Harris or me," says Nikki Haley, predicting a female president of the United States in 2024

Nikki Haley, an Indian-American Republican with aspirations for the presidency, expressed confidence in the possibility of the United States electing its first female president in 2024, suggesting that either herself or Vice President Kamala Harris could assume the highest office. She emphasized that both Donald Trump and Joe Biden, given their advanced age, were not suitable candidates for the presidency.

At 52 years old, Haley, who currently lags behind Trump in both primaries and polls, refrained from pledging support to the 77-year-old former president's potential bid for a second term in the White House. Haley highlighted survey data indicating that a significant portion of the American electorate harbored reservations about the presidential candidacies of both Trump and Biden, citing concerns about their age and fitness for office.

Asserting the importance of selecting a candidate capable of dedicating eight years of diligent service to the nation, Haley emphasized the need for leadership focused on the interests of the American people rather than personal ambitions. She maintained that a political party willing to nominate a candidate of a younger generation would be better positioned for electoral success, expressing her belief in the inevitability of a female president and suggesting herself or Kamala Harris as potential contenders.

While acknowledging Harris's prospects, Haley underscored that Harris would not ascend to the presidency if Republicans nominated Trump. However, she expressed determination to pursue her own candidacy vigorously, aiming to secure the nomination and ultimately win the presidency.

Haley's remarks preceded the Republican primary scheduled for February 24 in her home state of South Carolina, where she previously served as governor. Additionally, she reiterated her focus on advancing a new generation of leadership untethered by legal entanglements, alluding to Trump's ongoing legal challenges, which she has consistently raised as a concern throughout her campaign.

Emphasizing her commitment to the long-term pursuit of victory, Haley affirmed her dedication to the electoral process and her determination to achieve success in her bid for the presidency. She stressed that her primary objective was devising a winning strategy to secure the presidency for herself.
