'Man-child' student beats Indianapolis teacher with laptop

In the city of Indianapolis, USA, a 74-year-old teacher reportedly endured a violent assault by a student wielding a laptop on February 1, resulting in the teacher sustaining a black eye. The incident, described by the teacher, Rob Gooding, as an attack by a "man child" due to the student's size and the severity of the assault, was detailed in a report by the Daily Mail.

According to the Daily Mail, the student, towering at six feet two inches tall and weighing approximately 280 pounds, allegedly struck Gooding with a laptop before proceeding to physically assault him, ultimately forcing him to the ground and delivering punches to his face.

The aftermath of the attack left Gooding with significant facial injuries, including swelling and a black eye, prompting paramedics to be summoned to provide medical aid at the scene.

Expressing his desire for the student to face legal repercussions for his actions, Gooding reportedly sought the student's arrest and prosecution. However, he claims that school authorities declined to pursue such actions, purportedly under instructions from the district.

Despite advocating for the student's accountability, Gooding stated that he was informed by a school resource officer that the district had instructed against handcuffing or arresting the student.

Emphasizing the importance of holding the student responsible for his conduct, Gooding asserted, "He has to be accountable for his actions and that's what I feel." The incident is presently under investigation, and as per the report, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office has yet to reach a decision regarding potential charges against the student.
