Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is hospitalized and will not participate in the Uttar Pradesh leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra announced that she has been hospitalized due to an illness, compelling her to forego participation in the party's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra scheduled for Friday.

Expressing her regret at missing the event, Vadra extended her heartfelt wishes to her brother Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders embarking on the Nyay Yatra. She affirmed her intention to join them as soon as her health permits. The Nyay Yatra, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi, is poised to enter Uttar Pradesh later on Friday, marking a significant juncture in its journey.

Initially slated to rendezvous with her brother at Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh following the Yatra's entry into the state from Bihar, Vadra's unexpected hospitalization prompted a change in plans.

In a Hindi statement shared on X, Vadra conveyed, "I had been eagerly anticipating the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra's arrival in Uttar Pradesh. However, owing to my current health condition and subsequent hospitalization, I am unable to partake in the Yatra today. I remain optimistic about rejoining the Yatra as soon as my health improves."

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, helmed by former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, charts its course from Manipur to Mumbai, traversing Bihar at present. Notably, Gandhi, alongside Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, addressed a significant rally in Bihar's Aurangabad on Thursday.

As the Yatra progresses, Uttar Pradesh, a pivotal state in the Hindi heartland, awaits its arrival on Friday evening. The journey through Uttar Pradesh is slated to span from February 16 to 21, with a second leg scheduled from February 24 to 25. The Congress has designated February 22 and 23 as rest days for the Yatra, ensuring the well-being of participants and strategizing for the upcoming phases.

The East-West Manipur-Mumbai Yatra, spanning 6,700 km across 15 states, aims to underscore the message of "nyay" (justice) while engaging with the common populace along its route.
