Putin issues a nuclear war warning to the West if troops are dispatched to battle in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark nuclear warning to Western nations on Thursday, cautioning that their actions risked sparking a nuclear conflict if they were to deploy troops to Ukraine. Putin's explicit nuclear warning underscored the gravity of the situation and highlighted the potential consequences of escalating tensions between NATO and Russia.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has plunged Moscow's relations with the West into their most severe crisis since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. While Putin has previously alluded to the dangers of direct confrontation between NATO and Russia, his recent nuclear warning was among his most unequivocal statements on the matter.

Addressing lawmakers and other influential figures, Putin reiterated his stance that the West's interference in Russia's internal affairs posed a significant threat. He warned that Western leaders seemed oblivious to the perilous implications of their actions, particularly in light of proposals, such as French President Emmanuel Macron's suggestion of sending European NATO troops to Ukraine.

Putin emphasized Russia's capability to strike targets in Western territories, emphasizing that such actions could escalate into a conflict involving nuclear weapons, with catastrophic consequences for civilization. His remarks reflected a sense of urgency and frustration, coupled with a stern reminder of historical lessons regarding failed invasions of Russia.

As Russia continues to assert its dominance on the battlefield in Ukraine, Putin emphasized the need to bolster troops along the western borders with the European Union, especially following Finland and Sweden's decision to align with NATO. However, he dismissed notions of Russian aggression beyond Ukraine as baseless, asserting that Moscow remained committed to avoiding an arms race that would strain its resources.

While expressing openness to discussions on nuclear strategic stability with the United States, Putin criticized Washington's alleged reluctance to engage in genuine dialogue, accusing it of fabricating accusations against Russia to maintain dominance on the global stage.

Putin's remarks underscored the heightened tensions between Russia and the West and emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to avert a further escalation of the crisis.
