Run against me in the Lok Sabha elections: Telangana Chief Minister KT Rama Rao

The working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KT Rama Rao, has issued a bold challenge to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, daring him to step down from his current position and go head-to-head with him in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, particularly in the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency.

In a direct response to Reddy's previous remarks, where he openly challenged KTR to secure at least one Lok Sabha seat in Telangana, KTR asserted his readiness to face Reddy in the electoral arena. He called on Reddy to demonstrate his courage by relinquishing his Chief Ministerial post and the Kodangal seat to contest against him, while he would resign from his current Sircilla seat to compete against Reddy.

This challenge stems from KTR's questioning of the Congress party's track record in the constituency, implying that Reddy's claims may not hold up under scrutiny.

Reddy's criticism extended to former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, particularly regarding the appointment of his daughter K Kavitha as an MLC following her loss in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, as well as another relative's appointment as the vice chairman of the state planning board. Reddy underscored the Congress government's commitment to welfare schemes while condemning the alleged corruption and misuse of public funds during the previous BRS government's tenure.
