Two people are detained after four time bombs were found in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh

The preliminary inquiry indicates that the bombs confiscated by the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh Police in Meerut on Friday, alongside the subsequent arrest of two individuals, including a female suspect, are consistent with the type utilized by terrorist entities. The detained individuals have been identified as Javed Sheikh and Imrana, the latter hailing from Bantikhera in Muzaffarnagar.

Authorities assert that Sheikh purportedly engaged in bomb-making activities at the behest of Imrana, who allegedly provided him with an upfront payment of Rs 10,000.

Upon Sheikh's apprehension, law enforcement recovered four containers containing gunpowder, fragments of iron, and plaster of Paris, each equipped with timers. Initial scrutiny disclosed that Javed sourced glucose bottles from medical practitioners, iron fragments from bicycle vendors, and watch components to assemble the explosive devices.

Javed attested that he acquired bomb-making skills at his uncle's pyrotechnics establishment in the Muzaffarnagar district and supplemented his knowledge by consulting instructional materials on YouTube.

While the investigation unveiled the resemblance between the seized bombs and those utilized by extremist factions, no definitive links to any terrorist organization have been established.

Furthermore, it has come to light that Javed frequently journeyed to Nepal to visit his sibling. To delve deeper into the matter, an anti-terrorism unit and operatives from the Intelligence Bureau have descended upon Meerut to interrogate Javed.
