Unveiling the new insignia of his NCP organization, Sharad Pawar remarks, those in power

On the auspicious occasion at the historic Raigad Fort in Mumbai, Sharad Pawar, the venerable founder of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), unveiled the distinctive symbol of his faction on Saturday. The unveiled symbol features a 'man blowing turha,' a traditional trumpet, chosen with the intent of bringing joy to those grappling with the challenges posed by escalating inflation and unemployment, as articulated by Pawar himself.

During the symbolic unveiling, Pawar asserted that the chosen symbol represented more than just an emblem; it embodied a commitment to addressing the grievances of the people that have been overshadowed by those in positions of power. Accusing the ruling authorities of neglecting pressing issues such as the plight of farmers and the dearth of job opportunities for the youth, Pawar expressed his determination to make his NCP faction a formidable voice for the populace.

In the midst of what he described as a challenging national scenario, Pawar highlighted the distress of farmers and the unemployment crisis faced by the youth. He criticized those in power for exacerbating societal divisions instead of working towards the welfare of the people. The seasoned leader emphasized the need for a concerted effort to establish a government that prioritizes the well-being of the people, rallying his supporters around the symbolism of the trumpet as a source of inspiration for a renewed struggle for the people's welfare.

At the age of 83, Pawar sought the backing of his party members in the pursuit of a government that caters to the welfare of all segments of society. Drawing historical parallels, he invoked the legacy of Shivaji Maharaj, emphasizing the need for leaders who use their influence to unite and uplift the lives of all citizens. Pawar decried the present ideological clash, asserting the importance of credible voices in times of hardship and the necessity of role models to instill confidence in the common man.

The backstory of the new symbol unfolded when Sharad Pawar's nephew, Ajit Pawar, parted ways with the party to align with the ruling BJP. The Election Commission, in a series of decisions, recognized Ajit Pawar's faction as the authentic NCP, assigning the symbol 'Wall Clock' to his outfit. In response, Sharad Pawar's faction was bestowed with the symbol ‘man blowing turha,’ signifying the commencement of a new chapter in Maharashtra's political landscape, according to the directives of the Election Commission.
