'400 paar' is what '420' are discussing: Actor Prakash Raj's jab at the BJP

Prakash Raj, speaking at the Chikkamangalur Press Club in Karnataka, voiced his skepticism towards any political party proclaiming to secure over 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, labeling such assertions as "arrogant". Without explicitly naming the BJP, the actor hinted at recent events, implying that those who have engaged in deceitful practices (referred to colloquially as "420") are now making lofty claims about electoral success.

Emphasizing the principle of democracy, Prakash Raj asserted that no single party, including the Congress or any other, should exhibit such hubris by anticipating an overwhelming victory. He stressed that the allocation of seats ultimately rests with the electorate, warning against the perception of entitlement displayed by parties claiming otherwise.

The actor's remarks allude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement in the Rajya Sabha on February 5, where he expressed confidence in the NDA securing over 400 seats in the forthcoming elections. Additionally, he referenced Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge's comment in the Rajya Sabha on February 2, wherein Kharge speculated that the BJP, already in possession of a majority, was aiming for 400 seats.

Prakash Raj's comments serve as a reminder of the essence of democratic governance, emphasizing the need for humility and accountability in electoral discourse, rather than brash predictions of sweeping victories.
