A 25-year-old man was detained after making threats on social media to shoot Nitish Kumar

The incident involving the arrest of a 25-year-old man for threatening Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on social media highlights the potential dangers associated with irresponsible use of online platforms. The accused, identified as Vishesh Chaturvedi, was tracked down and apprehended from his residence in Barh, Bihar.

The video, which surfaced on social media, showed Chaturvedi issuing threats to shoot Nitish Kumar. Prompt action was taken by the Bihar Police upon learning about the video, and Chaturvedi was arrested on Monday night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Murari Prasad emphasized that the incident appears to be driven by a desire for instant fame and the lack of proper guidance. Chaturvedi's confession revealed that his statements were made in a fit of anger and that he had no actual intentions of harming the Chief Minister.

Chaturvedi's reference to Nitish Kumar's past controversial remarks in the Bihar Assembly underscores the volatile nature of public discourse and the need for responsible communication, especially on social media platforms. Nitish Kumar's own regrettable comments sparked widespread criticism, highlighting the importance of accountability and restraint in public speech.

The incident serves as a reminder of the legal consequences of making threats against public figures and the need for individuals to exercise caution and responsibility when expressing opinions online.
