A Jaipur court roughed up Sub Inspectors who were allegedly involved in recruitment exam cheating

A group of Police Sub Inspectors, who stand accused of obtaining their positions through unfair and illicit methods, faced physical aggression from lawyers while being brought before the bench inside a Jaipur court.

These Sub Inspectors, numbering 15, were apprehended by the Special Operations Group (SOG) for allegedly manipulating the Sub Inspector (SI) examination in 2021 by employing a proxy candidate. Following their arrest, they were remanded to six days of police custody.

Among the accused is the individual who secured the top position in the SI recruitment examination.

The SOG conducted extensive raids across Rajasthan, encompassing Jaipur, Ajmer, Beawar, and Kishangarh, resulting in the apprehension of trainee Sub Inspectors. Thirteen of these individuals were detained in Jaipur alone.

V K Singh, Additional Director General of the SOG, revealed that approximately 20 cases have been identified related to the fraudulent recruitment of SIs, which involved the leakage of examination papers during the 2021 SI recruitment process.

Rajasthan Minister Kirodi Lal Meena emphasized that out of the 859 individuals selected for the Sub Inspector position in 2021 and currently undergoing training at the Rajasthan Police Academy, a significant number ranging between 300 to 400 candidates were fraudulently chosen.
