A man, Andre Gordon Jr., faces a slew of serious charges spanning two states, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, following a series of violent incidents that resulted in the deaths of three family members. Gordon, 26, is accused of carjacking a vehicle in Trenton, New Jersey, around 8:40 am on Saturday, then driving to Levittown in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, where he allegedly killed his stepmother and sister. Subsequently, he proceeded to another location in Levittown, where he allegedly killed the mother of his two children.
The victims have been identified as Karen Gordon, his 52-year-old stepmother; Kera Gordon, his 13-year-old sister; and Taylor Daniel, the 25-year-old mother of his children. In addition to the homicides, Gordon is charged with assaulting Daniel's mother with an assault weapon. She was hospitalized for treatment following the incident.
Gordon then reportedly carjacked a second vehicle in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, before returning to Trenton. Law enforcement efforts, including a prolonged police presence at a Trenton residence, were undertaken to apprehend him. However, Gordon managed to evade capture until around 5 pm, when he was arrested, unarmed, while walking down a street a few blocks away.
While the motive behind Gordon's alleged actions remains unclear, authorities in Pennsylvania have stated that his prior interactions with law enforcement did not indicate such extreme behavior. The violence prompted significant disruptions in the affected areas, including the cancellation of a St. Patrick's Day parade, the closure of businesses, and a shelter-in-place order in certain locations.
Gordon currently awaits legal proceedings and is being held at the Mercer County Correction Center. Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson has indicated that Gordon will be extradited to Pennsylvania to face the charges against him there.
