A Tamil Nadu tourist car flips in Kerala, leaving four people dead and thirteen injured

A tragic accident occurred in Kerala's Idukki district, resulting in the loss of four lives, including that of a one-year-old infant. The incident took place when a tourist vehicle from Tamil Nadu overturned and plunged into a gorge on Tuesday evening. The vehicle, carrying 13 other tourists, was part of a family tour organized by the Tirunelveli Ajanta Pressure Cooker Company for its employees and their families. The tourists were returning to Tamil Nadu after visiting Munnar and Ernakulam.

The victims of the accident have been identified as 40-year-old Abhinesh Murthy, his one-year-old son Tanvik, 71-year-old Gunasekaran from Theni, and PK Sethu, the owner of Visakha Metal from Erode.

Currently, eleven injured individuals are receiving medical treatment at Adimali Taluk Hospital, while two others have been transferred to Theni Medical College for further care.

In another tragic incident earlier on the same day, a 27-year-old medical student lost his life when a large rock slipped from a lorry transporting stones for the Vizhinjam International Port and struck him in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The truck driver responsible for the accident has been apprehended, and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.

The victim, Ananthu, a dental student from Mukkola, was riding a scooter in the opposite direction when the rock struck him, causing him to lose control and collide with the wall of a nearby house. These unfortunate events serve as reminders of the importance of road safety and vigilance while traveling.
