A woman from UP commits herself; her family sets fire to her in-laws' home, killing two



An elderly couple tragically lost their lives in a harrowing incident that unfolded during a confrontation with the parents of their daughter-in-law, who had reportedly died by suicide. The distressing event occurred in the jurisdiction of the Muthiganj police station. It began when news broke that the 27-year-old woman had taken her own life late one night at her in-laws' residence.

Upon receiving this tragic information, the woman's parents and other family members swiftly gathered at the scene. Fueled by grief and suspicion, they engaged in a heated dispute with their daughter's in-laws, alleging that she had been killed before being hanged. Tensions escalated during the confrontation, leading to a violent outbreak.

Amidst the chaos, individuals purportedly affiliated with the woman's family resorted to extreme measures, setting fire to the house belonging to their daughter's in-laws. The situation quickly spiraled out of control, prompting a response from law enforcement authorities. Police officers arrived at the scene in an attempt to restore order and quell the escalating violence.

Despite the presence of police personnel, the raging flames engulfed the house, trapping several individuals inside. In a tragic turn of events, the bodies of the elderly couple, identified as Rajendra Kesarwani (65) and Shobha Devi (62), were discovered amidst the charred remains of their home. Meanwhile, their son, the woman's husband, and two other individuals suffered injuries as a result of the fire.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences that can arise from disputes fueled by grief and suspicion, leaving behind a community shattered by loss and tragedy.
