After his victories on Super Tuesday, Donald Trump is getting closer to facing Joe Biden again

Donald Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican nomination, stands poised to secure his position as the party's nominee for the upcoming presidential election, while President Joe Biden is anticipated to continue accruing delegates on the Democratic front.

Amid the fervor of Super Tuesday, voters from 16 US states and one territory cast their ballots in the presidential primaries, shaping the trajectory of the electoral contest between President Joe Biden and his Republican rival, Donald Trump, as they march towards a potential rematch in November's general election. Meanwhile, the viability of Trump's sole remaining challenger, Nikki Haley, appeared increasingly tenuous, with her campaign seeking rationale amidst dwindling prospects.

As reported by the Associated Press, although the largest night of the primary campaign is only halfway through, complete results are still forthcoming and may take several more hours to materialize. Primary elections were conducted across Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and the US territory of American Samoa.

The latest developments from Super Tuesday primaries indicate that President Joe Biden has decisively won all Democratic contests held in Alabama, Minnesota, Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, California, Virginia, and Vermont, according to the Associated Press.

On the Republican front, Donald Trump has secured victories in Alabama, Arkansas, Minnesota, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, California, and Virginia, as reported by the Associated Press. These wins come amidst his efforts to eliminate competition from Nikki Haley on this significant day of the primary calendar, positioning himself for a potential rematch against Joe Biden. Trump, known for his stringent stance on immigration, has pledged to execute the largest deportation operation in US history if re-elected.

Despite long-shot challenges from Congressman Dean Phillips and self-help author Marianne Williamson, President Joe Biden is poised to clinch his party's nomination. Notably, Biden faced a setback in Michigan on February 27, where a notable percentage of voters expressed dissatisfaction by declaring themselves "uncommitted" as a protest against the President's pro-Israel stance.

Meanwhile, with a substantial lead in the polls, Republican front-runner Donald Trump seeks to decisively eliminate Nikki Haley from the race. Despite securing only one victory amidst a series of nominating votes and facing dwindling financial support, Haley remains in contention. Super Tuesday presents her with a final opportunity to hinder Trump's momentum or expose potential vulnerabilities ahead of the general election.

Super Tuesday serves as a pivotal moment in the primary season, with voters from various states and territories participating in the selection process for presidential candidates as well as other elective offices. Delegates are allocated based on the outcomes of these primaries, with candidates vying to secure a majority to clinch their party's nomination. Super Tuesday boasts the highest number of delegates up for grabs, making it a crucial juncture in the electoral process. For Republicans, 854 out of 2,429 delegates are at stake, while Democrats have 1,420 delegates, representing approximately 35% and 36% respectively.
