After leaping from a Canadian train, three Indians attempt to enter the US and are apprehended

The US Border Patrol recently apprehended four individuals, including three Indian nationals and one individual from the Dominican Republic, who were attempting to enter the United States illegally via a freight train originating from Canada.

The incident occurred on March 12 when border authorities intercepted the individuals, including a woman, who had jumped off a moving freight train on the International Railroad Bridge in Buffalo, New York, a city bordering Canada.

Upon encountering border agents, the men attempted to flee, leaving behind the injured woman who had sustained injuries while disembarking from the train. Unable to move, she was subsequently attended to by Erie County Sheriff's deputies and US Customs and Border Protection officers (CBP) before being transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The individuals were later apprehended by border agents after a brief pursuit. Subsequent investigations revealed that the woman and two of the men were Indian nationals, while the fourth individual hailed from the Dominican Republic. All four were identified as undocumented non-citizens.

The Indian nationals have been detained at the Batavia Federal Detention Facility in New York, where they await deportation hearings for violating Sections 212 and 237 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Meanwhile, the injured woman continues to receive medical care for her injuries.
