After a mid-air malfunction, an army plane lands on a field in Bihar, injuring trainee pilots



According to officials, moments after it commenced its flight, a small aircraft belonging to the Indian Army touched down on a field in Bihar's Gaya district on Tuesday morning. This unexpected landing resulted in injuries to two trainee pilots onboard, as confirmed by authorities.

The microlight aircraft, which belonged to the Army's Officers' Training Academy (OTA), unexpectedly descended onto the field in Paharpur at approximately 9:15 am, as detailed by officials.

Describing the incident, a police officer stated that during a routine training session, the aircraft encountered a malfunction, leading to a significant noise. Subsequently, it made an emergency landing in the field.

Both trainee pilots on board sustained minor injuries in the incident, the officer added.

Upon receiving notification of the event, Gaya's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashish Bharti reported that the police promptly mobilized to the location of the incident.
