Age range for IVF: 21–50: The center reports Punjab on the mother of Sidhu Moose Wala

The Union Health Ministry has raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the birth of a baby to late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's parents through In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). According to the Ministry, a woman aged between 21 to 50 years is eligible to undergo IVF treatment to conceive a child. However, Sidhu Moose Wala's mother, Charan Kaur, is 58 years old.

The couple decided to pursue IVF nearly two years after the tragic loss of their only son, who was murdered in May 2022 at the age of 28 in Punjab's Mansa district.

The Ministry's concern was conveyed through a letter addressed to the Punjab government, dated March 14, requesting a report on Charan Kaur's IVF treatment. This action was prompted by a newspaper article dated February 27, which reported Charan Kaur's IVF treatment to conceive a child.

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), confirmed the receipt of the letter and emphasized its commitment to respecting the sentiments and dignity of Punjabis. It clarified that it was the Central Government that had requested the relevant documents.

In response to the government's inquiry, Balkaur Singh, Sidhu Moose Wala's father, accused the Punjab government of harassment, stating that authorities were demanding documentation for the newborn. However, he did not disclose in his Instagram video that the child was conceived through IVF.

Balkaur Singh assured that he would provide all necessary documents, asserting that he had adhered to all legal procedures regarding the birth of the child.
