An UP guy was detained for using a fictitious identity, occupation, and hairstyle to deceive a Dalit woman

A man from Uttar Pradesh's Kushinagar district was apprehended for allegedly concealing his identity to marry a Dalit woman. The accused, identified as Tabrez Alam, assumed the name Aryan Prasad and falsely claimed to be a police inspector in Gorakhpur.

Tabrez Alam had been involved in a relationship with the woman for a year, during which he withheld crucial details about himself. Subsequently, when the woman's family proposed marriage, Tabrez Alam readily agreed.

Their wedding was scheduled for February 25, but discrepancies in Tabrez Alam's story surfaced on the day of the event. He called to report a family emergency, purportedly due to his mother's heart attack, causing the delay of the wedding procession.

However, Tabrez Alam arrived at the venue alone in a decorated car. Despite initial appearances, doubts arose during the ceremony when the authenticity of the jewelry presented by the groom was questioned. Tensions escalated, leading to a confrontation, during which Tabrez Alam's wig fell off, revealing his true appearance.

Upon closer inspection, his Aadhaar Card was discovered in his possession, confirming his real identity. It became evident that he had deceived the woman and her family into marriage.

Promptly, the woman's family alerted the authorities, leading to Tabrez Alam's arrest at the wedding venue by the police.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police South Abhinav Tyagi, a case has been registered against Tabrez Alam.
