Ashok Chavan called Rahul Gandhi's "crying" senior leader statement baseless

The recent statement made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi about a "senior leader from Maharashtra" leaving the party and crying in front of his mother, Sonia Gandhi, has sparked controversy and led to denials from former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, who recently joined the BJP.

Chavan refuted Gandhi's claim, stating that he did not meet Sonia Gandhi before leaving the Congress party, terming the allegation as baseless and illogical. He emphasized that Rahul Gandhi's remarks were factually incorrect and merely a political stunt.

Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' remark, wherein he spoke about fighting against a powerful force, has drawn criticism from BJP leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded by stating that the 2024 Lok Sabha fight is between those who want to destroy 'Shakti' and those who worship it. He highlighted the significance of 'Shiv Shakti' during the Chandrayaan mission and criticized the opposition's stance against 'Shakti'.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala condemned Gandhi's remark, calling it an insult to the Hindu faith and indicative of a misogynistic mindset. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized Gandhi for his intense hatred towards PM Modi and his family status, stating that such animosity has crossed all human limits.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Khushbu Sundar emphasized that 'Shakti' resonates with women and represents inner strength, irrespective of religious affiliations. She underscored the importance of courage in fighting adversity.

Former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam criticized Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that he lacks clarity in his statements and does not understand the concepts of 'Shakti' and 'Bhakti'.
