Before the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi advises ministers to avoid controversial remarks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over an extensive day-long session with his Council of Ministers on Sunday, focusing on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) readiness for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and formulating a comprehensive action plan for the next five years. Sources familiar with the meeting informed India Today TV that PM Modi emphasized the importance of exercising caution and circumspection while addressing the public, advising ministers to be mindful of their words and guard against the manipulation of audiovisual content, such as deepfake technology.

Throughout the approximately 12-hour meeting, numerous BJP leaders engaged in intensive discussions regarding the blueprint for "Viksit Bharat: 2047" and outlined a detailed roadmap for the ensuing five years. The Prime Minister urged all BJP representatives to articulate the government's policies effectively during their interactions with the public, emphasizing the need to refrain from making contentious statements.

Sources further disclosed that PM Modi underscored the significance of garnering public support during the elections, highlighting the various initiatives undertaken by the government to foster development and ensure the welfare of diverse segments of society. "We will convene again post-victory," PM Modi reportedly remarked, expressing confidence in the party's prospects.

Union ministers, including Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hardeep Puri, Kiran Rijiju, Arjun Meghwal, and Piyush Goyal, contributed their insights and recommendations during the session, which were well-received by the Prime Minister.

According to government sources cited by news agency PTI, the meeting also deliberated on a 100-day agenda outlining immediate measures to be implemented following the formation of a new government in May, with a focus on swift execution. An official revealed, "Over 2,700 meetings, workshops, and seminars were convened at various levels, eliciting input from over 20 lakh youths."

Various ministries presented their proposals and perspectives during the meeting, which is anticipated to mark the culmination of such gatherings before the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections.
