Who is Captain Brijesh Chowta?
Captain Brijesh Chowta, aged 43, holds a degree in science and joined the BJP in 2013 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). Currently serving as the State Secretary of the BJP in Karnataka, Chowta has held various positions within the party, including District General Secretary of Dakshina Kannada.
Describing himself as an entrepreneur, cultural, and political activist, Chowta brings a diverse background to his political career.
Military Career:
Chowta served in the Indian Army for seven years, from 2003 to 2010, after being commissioned into the 7th Battalion of 8 Gorkha Rifles upon completing his training at the Officer Training Academy. During his tenure, he participated in counter-insurgency operations in Manipur and Assam.
Following his military service, Chowta pursued further education, enrolling in the Executive Business Management program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore.
Currently serving as the State Secretary of BJP's Karnataka unit, Chowta remains actively engaged in grassroots politics, bringing a blend of military discipline and political acumen to his role within the party.
