Congress's five "Yuva Nyay" promises to farmers and youth ahead of the Lok Sabha elections

In an endeavor to garner support from the youth and farming community ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has unveiled a set of five commitments as part of its electoral pledge for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

During a rally held in Banwara, Rajasthan, Congress Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi outlined these assurances, emphasizing their significance in ensuring justice for the nation's youth. Among the promises highlighted by Gandhi are plans to address the issue of 30 lakh unfilled government positions, along with proposing legislation to combat the leakage of question papers in government recruitment examinations, among other initiatives.

Termed as "yuva nyay" (justice for youth), the Congress party introduced these five commitments, including:

1. Filling 30 lakh government vacancies.
2. Providing apprenticeship opportunities for young individuals.
3. Implementing legislation to prevent paper leaks.
4. Ensuring social security for gig economy workers.
5. Establishing a startup corpus of Rs 5,000 crore to support entrepreneurs under the age of 40.

Gandhi underscored the importance of addressing the substantial number of unfilled government positions across the country, asserting that if elected, the Congress party's priority would be to promptly fill these vacancies. He further elaborated on the proposal to grant every graduate and diploma holder the right to apprenticeship, providing them with essential training and employment opportunities.

Additionally, Gandhi pledged to enact legislation aimed at safeguarding the rights and welfare of gig workers, drawing attention to the need for uniform regulations across the nation, similar to those implemented in Rajasthan.

Addressing concerns regarding paper leaks in government recruitment exams, Gandhi assured that the Congress party would take measures to standardize the examination process and eliminate outsourcing practices.

The Congress manifesto committee has submitted a draft of these proposed commitments to party leader Mallikarjun Kharge for review and consideration.
