"Couldn't resist": Biden pauses a campaign event for a moment with his infant

US President Joe Biden made a spontaneous move during a campaign event in Phoenix, Arizona, as he noticed a baby in the crowd and couldn't resist interacting with the infant.

According to The New York Post, Biden left the stage and joined the mother and her child in the audience, acknowledging his affection for babies. "Well, folks, I have to tell you straight up," Biden later addressed his supporters upon returning to the stage. "I like you all, but I couldn’t resist that little baby."

During his time with the mother and child, Biden remained seated and engaged with them while campaign manager Julie Chávez Rodríguez delivered her opening remarks, followed by another speaker's address.

Known for his fondness for infants, Biden has previously expressed his preference for babies over adults.

The campaign event in Arizona, a crucial battleground state, was part of Biden's ongoing efforts to connect with voters ahead of the upcoming presidential election rematch against former President Donald Trump.

During the event, Biden focused on reaching out to Latino voters, attributing part of his victory in 2020 to their support and urging them to rally behind him once again in November.

In an interview during his visit to Arizona, Biden criticized Trump's rhetoric on migrants, particularly condemning his characterization of them as "animals" and highlighting the Republican's stance on mass deportations.

Biden emphasized the importance of preventing Trump from winning another term, declaring, "We have to stop this guy, we can’t let this happen. We are a nation of immigrants."

With the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll indicating a narrow lead for Biden over Trump among registered voters by 1 percentage point, the campaign remains intense as both candidates seek support in pivotal states like Arizona.
