A 19-year-old youth named Suraj, hailing from Bihar, found himself in a peculiar situation while en route to Leh with his friends in search of employment. Suraj, seemingly overwhelmed by the harsh weather conditions of Leh, decided to take drastic measures to avoid the journey.
Suraj, along with his friends Vimlesh Shah and Golu, had boarded a train from Bihar and arrived at the New Delhi Railway Station to travel to Leh. However, upon hearing his friends discussing the challenging climate of Leh, Suraj chose to make a sudden escape. He managed to slip away from his companions and found himself at Delhi's Keshopur Sabzi Mandi.
In an attempt to avoid continuing the journey to Leh, Suraj resorted to staging his own kidnapping. He sent a text message to his brother, claiming that he had been abducted, and demanded a ransom of Rs 5,000 for his release.
Upon receiving the distressing message from his brother, Suraj's sibling promptly contacted Shah and informed him about the situation. Shah, realizing the seriousness of the matter, promptly reported the incident to the police via social media.
Responding to the alert, the social media cell of the Delhi Police swiftly forwarded the information to the railway police, prompting them to take immediate action.
Following a thorough investigation based on the complaint, the police successfully located and recovered Suraj from the Keshopur Sabzi Mandi. Now safe, Suraj faces a pending investigation, and appropriate legal action will be taken against him based on the findings of the probe.
