Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee has been hospitalized after suffering a major injury, as confirmed by the party on Thursday. She was admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital after sustaining the injury at her home.
Although the party did not disclose the details of how she was injured, images posted on the party's social media page revealed Mamata Banerjee with a visible gash on her forehead.
This incident follows a history of injuries for Mamata Banerjee. Last year in June, she suffered a leg injury when her helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Sevoke Airbase near Siliguri due to adverse weather conditions. Later, in September, she sustained another injury to her left leg while traveling in Spain, leading to the development of an infection on her injured leg.
Following the news of her hospitalization, several political leaders expressed their concern and wished her a speedy recovery. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti were among those who extended their wishes for her recovery.
