In an extraordinary feat, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) joined hands with the Flag Foundation of India (FFI) to set a new Guinness World Record for creating the largest human waving a national flag, surpassing all previous records. This historic event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 7368 students and staff of JGU, a remarkable achievement endorsed by officials from the Guinness World Records organization. Participants, including students from various schools and institutes of JGU, staff, faculty, and other officials, donned the colors of the Indian flag to commemorate this unique occasion.
Mr. Rishi Nath, the Adjudicator for the Guinness World Records, lauded the efforts of JGU and FFI, affirming their successful creation of the largest human waving flag record. The event, graced by Mr. Naveen Jindal, the Founding Chancellor of JGU and the driving force behind FFI, emphasized the significance of the Tricolor in embodying India's democratic, secular, and liberal values.
Reflecting on the event's importance, Prof. (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, the Founding Vice Chancellor of JGU, highlighted the university's commitment to excellence and innovation, further underscored by its recognition by the Guinness World Records. Prof. Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik, the Registrar of JGU, emphasized the event's role in strengthening pride in Indian identity and upholding the values enshrined in the Tricolor.
Maj. General (Retd) Ashim Kohli, the Secretary General of FFI, echoed the sentiment of national pride and emphasized FFI's endeavor to revive the spirit of nationalism. He highlighted FFI's extensive efforts in installing monumental flags across the country, emphasizing the significance of the Tricolor in uniting all Indians.
