In Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, an Iranian girl becomes engaged to an Indian YouTuber

Faiza, a 24-year-old woman from Hamedan, Iran, has traveled to India on a 20-day tourist visa to meet and marry YouTuber Diwakar from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. Their cross-border romance began three years ago when they connected on Instagram, initially bonding over discussions about their respective countries. After falling in love, Diwakar visited Faiza in Hamedan in July 2023, where they completed the legal procedure of marriage in Iran. Now, Faiza and her father Masood are in India to complete the legal process here before tying the knot.

During Faiza's visit to India, she and her father plan to visit iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Faiza is currently studying at a university, while her father Masood works as a walnut farmer in Hamedan.

Despite initial challenges from Diwakar's family, who eventually came to accept the relationship, there are no religious restrictions imposed by them. Diwakar emphasized that Faiza is free to follow the customs and traditions of her religion, both in India and in their future life together.

Their relationship has also been marked by cultural exchange, with Diwakar learning some Persian from Faiza and teaching her Hindi. As they await the completion of the legal process, Diwakar expressed their eagerness to formalize their union through marriage.
