In UP, Apna Dal (K) teams up with Owaisi's AIMIM for the Lok Sabha elections

Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) has entered into an alliance with Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Other regional parties like Premchand Bind's Pragatisheel Manav Samaj Party and Rashtriya Uday Party have also joined this alliance.

This development follows Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) severing ties with the Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav just days ago.

The specifics of the seat-sharing arrangement between the alliance partners will be disclosed in due course.

Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized that the collaboration isn't solely for the Lok Sabha elections but should be extended for the welfare of the people of Uttar Pradesh in the long term.

"We stand in solidarity with Pallavi Patel (Apna Dal Kamerawadi leader). From the outset, we've advocated that this alliance should transcend beyond the Lok Sabha elections and serve the interests of the people of Uttar Pradesh. We anticipate that this alliance will garner support from the people of the state," stated the Hyderabad MP.

Meanwhile, Pallavi Patel, the leader of Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), raised concerns regarding the government's treatment of the marginalized Dalit Muslim community and criticized the silence of the Opposition on this issue.

"The PDM (Pichhda, Dalit, and Musalman) front has initiated a movement for justice against the government. PDM represents a segment of society that both constitutes and dismantles governments," Patel remarked.

This upcoming election marks AIMIM's debut in Uttar Pradesh's Lok Sabha polls. The party had previously contested local body elections in the state in 2017, securing 32 seats.

Apna Dal (Kamerawadi), on the other hand, had formed an alliance with the Samajwadi Party for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
