India Zindabad: The Navy is responsible for saving the Pakistani crew from a hijacked ship

The Indian Navy conducted a successful rescue operation in the Arabian Sea, liberating a hijacked Iranian vessel, the FV Al-Kambar, along with its 23 Pakistani crew members on Friday.

In a video shared by the Navy, the crew members onboard the vessel could be seen expressing gratitude and chanting 'India Zindabad' (Long live India) after being rescued.

The Navy has apprehended the nine armed pirates responsible for the hijacking and they will be brought to India for further legal proceedings under the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act of 2022, as stated in an official statement.

The operation was initiated after the Navy received information about the hijacking of the Iranian fishing vessel, AI Kambar 786, approximately 90 nautical miles southwest of Socotra in Yemen on March 28.

Two Indian Naval ships, INS Sumedha and INS Trishul, were diverted to intercept the hijacked vessel. After more than 12 hours of tactical operations following standard operating procedures, the pirates surrendered, and the crew, consisting of 23 Pakistani nationals, was safely rescued.

Before allowing the vessel to resume its fishing activities, the crew underwent thorough medical checkups to ensure their well-being.

The successful rescue operation demonstrates the Indian Navy's commitment to maritime security and its capability to combat piracy in the region.
