Indian man stabbed his wife at their house in Canada, leading to a murder case



Jagpreet Singh, a 50-year-old man from Punjab, India, has been charged with second-degree murder following the stabbing death of his wife, Balwinder Kaur, in their home in Abbotsford, Canada. The incident occurred last Friday night, with police responding to reports of an assault in progress on Wagner Drive around 10:50 PM on March 15.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Kaur inside the residence with life-threatening stab wounds. Despite efforts by first responders, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital. Singh, Kaur's husband, was arrested at the scene on Saturday.

The Abbotsford Police Department has not disclosed any information regarding a potential motive for the murder but confirmed that Singh was acquainted with the victim. Sergeant Timothy Pierotti emphasized that the incident was isolated, and investigations are ongoing to provide support to the affected community amidst the tragedy.
